The monitor is a device or system that measures patient physiological parameters. The doctor will set the standard value on the device. What can we monitor with the devices?
The basic parameters of the monitor consist of electrocardiogram (ECG), respiration (RESP), non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), pulse, body temperature (TEMP). In addition, optional parameters include invasive blood pressure (IBP), end-breathing carbon dioxide (EtCO2), anesthetic gas (AG), cardiac output (CO), etc.

The scope of clinical application of the monitor includes during surgery, after surgery, trauma care, coronary heart disease, critically ill patients, newborns, premature babies, hyperbaric oxygen chambers, delivery rooms, etc.
According to the monitor structure, they contain four categories, portable monitors, plug-in monitors, telemetry monitors, and HOLTER (24-hour dynamic electrocardiogram) ECG monitors.

Monitors have three categories according to their functions: bedside monitors, central monitors, and outpatient monitors (telemetry monitors)


Daily maintenance of ECG monitor

1. The monitor should be protected from sunlight to avoid abnormal temperature rise in the machine.
2. The instrument should be placed in a fixed position to prevent vibration.
3. After use, clean and disinfect the fuselage wires and accessories.
4. Regularly check whether the monitor feature is correct, and solve the problem in time.
